Judge David Farr vs Clinton “Chip” Wells Who Will Win and Why
Harris County Judicial Elections – November 2018
There is a storm brewing. Democratic candidate for presiding Judge of the 312th Judicial District Court in Harris County, TX vs the Honorable Judge David Farr.
Who Will Win The Seat for Judge
As a hacker, I always ask myself, “Who do I want to win?”. Initially I was straddling the fence. I spent many hours in Judge Farr’s court and learned a great number of things. Rather than look at individual events, I had to look at the overall big picture and conclude whether or not the Honorable Judge David Farr was indeed “Honorable”.
It turns out, that in family court, judges have to act in the best interest of children. This is family law and Texas public policy.
Is Judge David Farr Qualified to be a Judge?
Yes. I’ve seen the Hon. David Farr work long hours. He is patient and he is fair to people of all colors, races, and nationalities. According to public documents, his student loan debt is outstanding and yet, he continues to seek higher education.
My father always told me, “STUDY HARD TO PROVE YOURSELF WORTHY”.
Is Chip Wells a Worthy Opponent?
Absolutely. If I had never met Judge Farr, Clinton Wells would most definitely have my vote. The reasons are simple:
- I’m a recently converted Democrat
- Trump has made a bad name for Republicans
- Chip Wells is the new “kid” on the block
- He has a great smile
Why Judge Farr Will Win November’s Election
Judge Farr has had a long tenure in family court. He has dealt fairly with many attorneys and public figures in the community. I’m sure he has made some enemies but I sincerely believe that his judgments and orders are in accordance with the greater good. For example, the Judge presided over a child custody case with regards to Beyonce Knowles father, Matthew Knowles. The outcome turned out to be best for the child, TaQoya Branscomb.
Reading Texas Law, we find the following facts:
TEXAS FAMILY CODE CHAPTER 153 SEC. 153.001. PUBLIC POLICY.
(a) The public policy of this state is to:
(1) assure that children will have frequent and continuing contact with parents who have shown the ability to act in the best interest of the child;
(2) provide a safe, stable, and nonviolent environment for the child; and
(3) encourage parents to share in the rights and duties of raising their child after the parents have separated or dissolved their marriage.
TEXAS FAMILY CODE CHAPTER 153 SEC. 153.002. BEST INTEREST OF CHILD.
The best interest of the child shall always be the primary consideration of the court in determining the issues of conservatorship and possession of and access to the child.
Attorney Clinton Chip Wells Can Win the Election
It is no secret that the new democratic candidate for Judge of the 312th Judicial Family Court could win the November 2018 election. In order to win this year’s campaign, he would need the assistance of a talented individual on his team.
The Impact of Social Media on Judicial Elections
Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIN and traditional news media will have a significant impact on November’s election. It is also an easy indicator to gauge support by voters and the community.
How Judge Farr Could Win The Election
If I were assisting in a campaign for re-election, I would send a postcard to every obligee asking for “child support”. I would encourage trials as this would be free “Facetime” with the public. Easy to make great and lasting impressions. Putting out orders, mandates and new policies that contribute to positive changes to the Harris County court system for attorneys, lawyers, advocates and clerks.
The influence of an Administrative Judge is unmatched. The Republicans sure knew what they were doing when they put a technocrat in court #312.
Now would be the time to put on events and talk to students at UofH. It would also be a good time to do something special for army veterans.
Judge Farr’s lack of community outreach to the general public and community (more diversity-where the latino’s at?) is the biggest hindrance in guaranteed success.
How Clinton Wells Could Win The Election
This type of strategy would be a numbers and race game. Clinton is the “new” Obama. I would target any person who is not an Aggie, University of Houston Alumni, military personnel or attorney that has had favor in David Farr’s courtroom. Fortunately for Chip, this information is available in court documents.
This is why it is so challenging (but not impossible) to defeat the incumbent.
The law school and associates with D.A. Kim Ogg give Mr. Wells a fighting chance. He has a great team supporting him.
I would focus on the LGBT community.
Straight Ticket Voting Not A Factor
This particular election will be decided by the popular vote. Individuals going to the ballots and already having a preconceived notion of who they will vote for.
About the Author
I am a 32 year old father of two children. I have went to court and fought for my parental rights for child custody and child support in the 312th Judicial Court in Harris County located at 201 Caroline, 16th Fl, Houston, TX 77002.
I proceeded pro se and participated in a trial. I only won on two motions but they were the most important legal documents I ever filed. My current court orders are visiting with my children “as agreed” between myself and the custodial parent.
This article was written not to gain favoritism with either candidate, but to let the public know the truth. I offered my assistance to both “Clinton Chip Wells for 312th Family District Court” campaign and the “Re-elect Judge Farr” campaign. Being a Democrat and having great opportunity with the Harris County District Attorney Kim Ogg, my loyalties are with that party. I really do not like Republicans but I’ve learned not to judge an entire group of people by the actions of individuals.
I know this article will be on the first page of Google anytime you search or try to research the court, Judge Farr, or attorney Clinton Wells if you are in Texas. I have a duty and responsibility to not intercede in this election because it involves children and their future. My decisions could impact the lives of thousands for years to come.
Fortunately, Judge David Farr has been a good judge to me. He could have easily threw me under the bus but did not exercise his power in a way to cause my children harm. I sincerely believed he eventually did what was best for children.
